Will we get to meet a team member before we decide to use any of the services?

A member of our team will initially meet with owners and pets before you decide to use our services. This initial meeting is free and is held a minimum of 72 hours before you decide to join us. This meeting allows us to ask all about your pets so that we can understand their needs and personality, allowing us to build a bond with them. It is also a chance for owners to get to know the team member and ask them any relevant questions or queries.
Is A Walk in the Park covered by insurance?
- Yes
A Walk in the Park is covered by Protectivity Insurance and also DBS checked . A certificate may be provided on request.
If you are using our home visit service whilst you are away, please check your own household insurance policy as some may become void if the householder is away for more than a specified number of days continuously. You may also need to tell your insurance company that A Walk in the Park are key holders for your property for the time you are away.
What is the process for leaving you with a key for my home?
- This is completely your decision.
Some households will have a coded key box to leave their keys in. Other customers may opt to have a separate key cut for the member of staff. You will be reassured to know that if you provide us with a key, it will have no indication that would link the key to your home. We do not accept responsibility for any keys that go missing if you ask our team to leave them in a discreet location at your home.
Is there a cancelation charge?
- This only applies for any overnight pet services you have booked with us. If you have canceled within 24 hours, a cancellation fee will be incurred. The fee will be half the cost of the service that you had booked with us.
If there are any incidents with my pet, what will the process be?
- A Walk in the Park has you and your pets best interest at heart. We will first contact you or your nominated emergency contact if any incident has occurred and on instruction, take your pet to the Veterinary clinic you have provided us with. For minor incidents, we will contact you and follow your instruction.
What if I am delayed over the time I have booked your sevices?
- Should you be delayed please inform us as soon as possible so that the necessary arrangements can be made.
Are you able to administer medication?
- Yes
As long as we have been given permission by the owner and clear instructions.
Will I recieve updates on how my pet is getting on?
- Yes
We will make sure you recieve a message about your pet every day that they are with us if you request us to do so Likewise, feel free to call or text if you want to find out how they are getting on.
